Donald Cox joins Virtual Rehab’s Advisory Board

Virtual Rehab is pleased to announce that Mr. Donald Cox joins as its first member of the Advisory Board.

Mr. Cox is the Chief Information Officer of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). SAMHSA is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. Charged with reducing the impact of substance abuse and mental illnesses on America’s communities, SAMHSA has made significant strides throughout its 22-year history and serves as a national and global leader in the field of behavioral health care.

SAMHSA provides leadership and devotes its resources, including programs, policies, information and data, contracts and grants, to help the United States act on the knowledge that behavioral Health is essential to health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover from mental and substance use disorders.

At the SAMHSA, Mr. Cox, oversees IT strategy, operations, human resources, and financial management of a Health and Human Services (HHS) Operational Division’s IT program, consisting of enterprise IT systems, data center, cloud computing, and software development contracts. Additionally, he directly coordinates with the HHS CIO Office, HHS Operational Divisions, and SAMHSA Program offices to advance the behavioral health of the nation through health IT while reducing total cost of ownership.

Mr. Cox is a great addition to the Virtual Rehab team and we will most definitely benefit from his experience, expertise, and global network.
